Becoming a Plumber
What does a Plumber do?
Plumbers install, service, and maintain the waters needed in the State. They install the domestic drinking water systems vital for safe and clean drinking water. They install the piping systems that distribute waste and stormwater to proper treatment facilities to return it safely into the ground. Apprentices will acquire skills required to install, service and maintain many different types of piping – soldering, brazing, and welding to name a few. Knowledge of all the equipment and components the systems require to function correctly will also be acquired through training. All these are essential in protecting the nation’s health.
