As a member of Wisconsin’s union building trades, my career is dedicated to constructing and maintaining our state’s infrastructure. I've seen firsthand how essential reliable power is for our homes, businesses, and industries. For that reason, I strongly advocate for utility-scale wind power developments.

These projects are part of the evolution and improvement of Wisconsin’s energy grid to ensure reliable, consistent access to the energy required to power our homes and businesses while protecting ratepayers. These projects are also critical to meeting surging energy demand.

Given that all four of Wisconsin’s major utilities have committed to employing local union workers on these projects, we have the highest confidence that these projects will pay Wisconsin workers a prevailing wage, adhere to industry leading best practices for safety and construction, and provide on the job experience for the registered union apprentices who represent the next generation of our state’s workforce.

Studies show that when Wisconsin union members are employed to build clean energy projects, our entire state benefits economically. Wages paid to local workers go right back into the communities in which those workers live. This approach – investing in reliable new sources of energy while employing local, union workers – is a win-win-win for Wisconsin energy consumers, communities, and workers.

By working together, we can build a future where Wisconsin leads in both clean energy innovation and a strong workforce, ensuring that every worker shares in the benefits of our progress.
